Our super talented Creative, Dan has been an INKer for nearly two months now so in true INK style, we shone our spotlight on him to ask our ten quick-fire questions.
Be sure to carry on reading to find out his fantastic advice for budding Creatives…
INK-terviewer: Hi Dan, let’s kick things off with you letting us in on what you’re working on this week?
Dan: A bit of everything! Wireframing, designing several websites for our awesome clients as well as leaflet designs and a concept for a TV ad!
INK wouldn’t be INK without…
Dan: The great team.
If you weren’t a Creative here at INK, what profession might you have fancied having a go at instead?
Dan: In my spare time I like to DJ and make music too so it would have been great to have turned it into a full time career.
Imagine you’re auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent…what talent would you wow the judges with? Any party tricks up your sleeve?
Dan: Nothing is coming to mind on this one, I used to be able to do a few tricks on my BMX a long time ago!
How would your best pal describe you in three words? Be honest…
Dan: Thoughtful, funny and hopefully creative
If you could jet off to a desert island with three people (celebs or otherwise, dead or alive) who would make the cut and why?
Dan: Bear Grylls for survival , Karl Pilkington for entertainment and David Attenborough to narrate.
For you, what’s been the most important digital development in recent years – and how has it helped you do your job?
Dan: For years Adobe kind of owned the design industry but recently several start up companies have popped up such as UX Pin, Invision and Sketch which have since turned into the major players now meaning Adobe are currently playing catch up, it’s been interesting to watch and they all make my job easier.
Three-course dinner party round at yours! But what’s on the menu?
Dan: Cheesy mushrooms for starter, Mixed grill for main course, Sticky toffee pudding for desert.
If you could offer just one piece of advice to a budding Creative, what would it be?
Dan: Just to be persistent! It can be hard to get an initial break into the design industry and some people are put off after a few knock backs but if you stick at it there are companies out there that will give you a chance such as an internship and from there things will get easier.
Finally, aside from your obvious talents, tell us something else we don’t know about you…
Dan: I am currently in the top 25 for web designers and for user experience designers on Creative Pool which I am very proud of!
